Agnes Lucille Campbell

March 3, 1921- August 30, 2008

Mom went to her eternal rest after battling the ravages of old age and congestive heart failure. She was lovingly cared for by our sister, Stephanie, and her family during her final months. Mom was pre-deceased by our Dad after 68 years of marriage.

Mom was born in Maquoketa, Iowa and was the youngest of 13 children. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Margaret and James Bock, and the closest of her older sisters, Margaret Stuart of San Francisco, CA, Ethel Starnes formerly of Walnut Creek, CA and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Roberta Novak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

After the death of her father, her family moved to Cedar Rapids where she ultimately met and married Dad, and gave birth to son, David. Dad transferred jobs to Watertown, SD, where Melinda, Stephanie, and Jeffrey were born.

Seeking a better life for their children, the Campbells moved to Redondo Beach in 1953. Mom was a waitress for over 35 years at several well known South Bay restaurants. When she retired, she became involved with Nar Anon in it's infancy. She wrote articles for their newspaper, helped out in the office, and made many friends.

She is survived by her children: sons, David and wife Margaret and grandson Glenn and granddaughter, Kristie Campbell and great grandson Chaz Baragiola; daughter Melinda (Ralph) Turkolu and granddaughters Elizabeth Kyle and Jessica (Dennis) Walker; daughter Stephanie (William) Harper and granddaughters Nicol Harper and Taffy Harper; son Jeff and wife Christine and grandson Jeffrey and granddaughter Angela (Steve) Ellard.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 12:30PM at St. James Church, Redondo Beach, CA. Private Inurnment.
