Our beloved friend passed away peacefully in her home on June 10, 2012 after a ten year battle with breast cancer. Alexandra was born in Louisiana on November 15, 1945 to Alexander and Mamie Evanosky. Alex grew up in Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pittsburg with a B.A. in engineering operations and a minor in philosophy. She furthered her education at Cal State University, Long Beach with certifications in construction, engineering/management and served as a senior project engineer, structural designer and project manager at a variety of prestigious firms. Alexandra started her own successful consulting company, The Bishop Group, working with ARCO Refinery and other major corporate clients. Alex then retired from engineering and become an elementary school teacher. She was part of the team that helped Barton Hill Elementary School raise student performance scores over 400 points. Ms. Finale was a nurturing teacher who held her students to the highest standards. Alexandra will be fondly remembered as a fun loving and loyal friend, who influenced countless people through her dedication to various causes and to the service of others. She recently joined the Redondo Beach Center for Spiritual living and was in the process of taking classes to become a practitioner. She is survived by many close friends she called family.
The service will be held at the Center for Spiritual Living , 907 Knob Hill, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
