Alfonso "Ponchie" Gonzales, a long time Hermosa Beach resident, passed away at his home on December 27, 2016. Alfonso was born in Lompoc, CA on January 23, 1920.
Alfonso was a WWII Veteran and served as a Field Medic in the Marines stationed in Okinawa. He owned and operated his own business, Compo-Loam Planting Mix for over 50 years in Torrance, CA. Alfonso recently became the oldest USC graduate in the school's history.
Alfonso is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. Private family services were held.
