I worked with Alfredo while I was stationed at LAAFB from March 1998 until September 1999.  Throughout that entire time, he always had a smile and a joke, even when things were at their worst.  I never saw him upset or loose his temper a single time.  He had a heart of gold and was one of the most gentle and meek people I have ever served with.  I am honored to have known him.  My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

When "GAB" was hired a Hughes Space and Communications 15 years ago he was my supervisor. As  my leader he hepled me become the professional that I am tody. He went to bat for me several times. Gabe,      You gave my career a shot with all the writing I did for recruiting and by managing that great bunch of production coordinators you built.      Major breakthroughs  originated in our office. The unique ability to clear the office of friends and coffee klatschers; close the door and freak out with days of work to complete a job on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of customer and manager. We were young and crazy!      You never could resist anything with wheels that went fast. My favorite memory is being your pizza and frosted flake gofer while you holed up in your apartment recovering from an encounter with a mattress on the 405 while piloting one of your rice rockets.      The time with Gabriel & Wagner Racing trying to get sponsors and helping in the pits. Low on dollars; high on enthusiasm we were. I enjoyed conversing with Alfredo and joking with him . He had a great sense of humor. I particularly enjoyed hearing stories from his military days. A few years ago, we started having lunch twice a week along with other co-workers. I am happy that I we did this and I thank God for giving me the pleasure in knowing this great man. I aks our Lord God to give him peace. Alfredo was a good friend and I will miss him very much.

You all have my love and deepest sympathy.  Gabe was one of the finest, most uplifting people I have ever known, keeping the world laughing even when he was very ill.  Gabe was a pleasure to work with at TRW, to ski with in the ski club and he will live on in our memories for as long as we live.

Gabe was so helpful to all of the ATA trainers (Kelly Hicks, Jan Michaelson, Edie Cole, and myself), when we had to design training classes.  What a knowledgeable and helpful man.  I will miss his smiling face.

My name is Amy Montano-Lopez, one of Alfredo\'s co-workers at the Los Angeles Air Force Base.  I am no longer at the Air Force Base, but I would like to share that Alfredo Gabriel will always be someone who\'s advice, supporting words, and disposition towards life left a long lasting impression on me.  He was a supportive figure to me, as I was learning to maneuver through the business world.  When work became challenging, I could always go to Alfredo and he always had words of wisdom to share.  He never criticized, but rather helped me to see the problem more clearly.      I remember many things about Alfredo, I remember his cheerful smile in the morning, his hospitality to always share his â€œspecial brewâ€ of coffee, his enthusiasm for adventure, his soft spoken words of encouragement that were teamed with words of strength and courage.  I remember stories about his family, his kids, his grandchildren and especially his wife.  He was very PROUD of his family, and always had pictures of his family posted in his office. To Gabe\'s family and friends,      There are times in our lives when we encounter special people who touch our soul by the kindness and gentleness of their spirit.  I met Gabe in 1999 when I moved from Northern Virginia to Torrance and assumed the management of my company\'s contract at the Los Angeles Air Force Base.  I was starting a new job in a new land with no family or friends and felt very lonely and disconnected.  On my 3rd day at work I met Gabe and he instantly made me fell welcome, comfortable and appreciated.  It\'s difficult being the new boss on the job and he sensed that immediately and extended a hand of friendship and understanding.  Over the past two years I have enjoyed my encounters with Gabe and I shall miss him.      I\'ve always thought that the little things that we do and say measure the content of a person\'s character.  By that standard and from my personal experiences with him, I believe that Gabe was a gentleman of quality and model to be emulated.  We are better for having known him and I will keep Gabe and his family and friends in my prayers. Gab made a life long dream come true when he   taught me how to kayak. The picture of Gab   that\'s ingrained in my mind is him carving a   turn - his kayak on its edge, leaning way out   over the water doing a low brace (oh how he   loved to brace!) with a huge smile on his face.   Gab made it seem so effortless and easy - I   quickly learned just how much grace and talent   he had when I tried it!      Gab\'s kayaking skills mirrored his life,   making it look so easy - I always felt calmer   and happier around him. He taught me a lot more   than how to kayak, his love of life and people   is a great inspiration. Gab brought a lot of   happiness here on earth, now it\'s heavens turn. I miss Gabe\'s stories about being a QA at TRW. He taught me much professionally. Hopefully, he\'ll keep the folks upstairs honest. I can just see him bellowing now: "Never mix flight parts with non-flight parts! These angel wings are defective. Send them back!"

Gabriel was a special man.  He   made everyone feel very comfortable to talk to him about anything.  He was very proud of his family specially his children and wife.  He was my mentor at work for about 15 years.  Gabriel always encourage me to do my best.  We will all miss Gabriel;  He will be in our hearts for ever.      I know that now his resting in peace and is an angel watching over us.

Many years ago, I interviewed Alfredo for a position in Configuration Management.  Ten minutes into the interview, I knew he was the man for the job.  For the rest of the hour that was set for interview, we killed time by speaking just about anything!   Since that day, Alfredo and I were very close, at a personal and professional level.      Alfredo will always be remembered as an individual whose integrity was impeccable, his humble advise and generosity to help others was extremely rare (in today\'s society), and his attitude towards life and others was always in a positive way.  Alfredo was one of the few individuals I\'ve ever come across that was a rock under pressure, and always maintained situations under control.  His mere presence dictated leadership.  He was, above all, a people\'s person - the best ice-breaker I\'ve ever met!      Alfredo will be dearly missed at workâ€¦ by manyâ€¦  He touched every one of our lives in various ways, under different circumstances and situations, but what will be common for all of us is the remembrance of an individual that was kind, gentle and wise.  It was a pleasure and an honor to have shared the last working years of Alfredo\'s life as a boss and a friend.

Thank you, Gabe, for the many pleasant hours of conversation and for the invaluable wisdom about life that you passed my way.  Relax now and rest.  The love of your friends and family will soothe you on this journey.      I\'ll see you on the by and by.      Lois

I worked with Gabe at TRW for many years.  I loved the stories of his life that he shared with me.  It was always a pleasure to talk with him.  He helped me and my wife deal with life from the knowledge he most lovingly shared.  Gabe and I were re-aquainted when he began working at the Los Angeles AFB.
