Amanda R. Cruz

Amanda was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Parish. Amanda attended University in the Philippines and graduated with a Business Administration degree. She went on to further education and completed her studies to become a Registered Nurse. Amanda enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading all types of books. She loved gardening, landscaping and most especially attending to her orchids. She enjoyed the love of her family and all of her grandchildren. Amanda was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.

Amanda is survived by daughter, Malou (Mike) Iske of Lawndale, CA, daughter, Rose (Andrew) Pranada of Bakersfield, CA, son, Mark (Ann) Cruz of Lawndale, CA, grandson, Brandon Hale of Los Angeles, CA, grandson, Edward Ferreras of Gardena, CA, granddaughter, Evita (Jordan) Ferreras of Las Vegas NV, grandson, Edgar Ferreras of Gardena, CA, granddaughter, Ashley Cruz of Lawndale, CA, granddaughter, Amanda Cruz of Lawndale, CA and grandson Bryce Pranada of Bakersfield, CA. Her loving husband of 52 years, Jimmy Cruz preceded Amanda in death.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA with a Vigil Service beginning at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, January 5, 2009, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church at 3846 W. Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance CA 90504 with interment following at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
