Ana Isabel Cortez was born on October 22,1962 in the small town of Sotuta in Yucatan, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States at the young age of 7 with her parents Gilda Maria and Juan Gualberto Pech Llanes. Ana is one of six children.
She was married to Jose Francisco Cortez and has four children: Dalena Isabel (Isa), Jose Francisco (Frankie), Maria Guadalupe (Lupita), Kimberly Esperanza (Espie).
Ana smiled through life. She believed that smiles and hugs were the best medicine - she would mention that the perfect daily dose of hugs was 8, so she made sure she, at a minimum, gave 8 hugs a day. (Promise she gave lots more). Ana had a kind heart, she was a mother of four, but a mother to anyone that wanted her love. All who came across Ana knew the special person she was. She helped all who needed it, gave advice to those who would listen, and loved so deeply it would fill a room.
Ana worked at LAUSD as a Food Manager and always instilled in her children the importance of education. She worked hard to demonstrate to her family that anything was possible at any age and in 2013 received a Certificate from USC's Rossier School of Education.
Ana had a young heart and spirit. She loved to dance and laugh because it kept her young. We know Ana is dancing with her parents now. She was loved by many and will be eternally missed.
We love you to infinity and beyond.
