Arthur "Art" Harry Mortensen, a 30 year resident of Gardena CA, passed away on Saturday May 30, 2015 in Gardena, CA. Born in Brooklyn New York, Arthur was 82 when he died. He served his country in the Navy for four years.
Arthur was a Sheriff with Ventura County for fifteen years. As an avid mountain climber, he was an integral member of Ventura's Search and Rescue Team. At one time, he was the owner of the Saddleback Bowling Alley in Mission Viejo.
Arthur is survived by wife Sheila Mary Mortensen; daughter Karen Farrell; step-daughters Colleen Bearden and Elizabeth Patton; and grandchildren Arthur, Travis, Brittany and Daniel Bearden and Hunter Patton.
Services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senior Day Care Center, 14517 S. Crenshaw, Gardena CA 90249.
