For a special reason I waited for a period time entering my thoughts in this guestbook because for me it was more then a loss of Barbara’s passing. I considered my self more then fortunate knowing Barbara. From day one I called her “Arroze” Spanish for Rice.       Arroze I still cannot find words how to thank you for all the time we shared. God bless and rest in peace.

dear family,   i send my deepest regrets for your loss. it is such a shame that she had to depart this world so soon. i was 17 and living in torrance when i started working with her and learning from her. we went to unity church when she found me and asked me to work for her. she was a very agressive and confident woman when it came to her work. i enjoyed every moment i got to spend with her and i feel blessed that i got to learn from adn work for her. she became almost like another mother to me and supported me in the life changing decision i made to move to texas with my fiance and she was the only one who was genuinely happy for me when noone else was. i will greatly miss her and remember her always. i hope that you are all well and i pray that she watches over us all as we go through our lives on this planet.      love and prayers,   Michaelene Luther

Barb was more than a cousin, she was the sister I never had.

Our deepest sympathies to Barbara's family and closest friends.  We enjoyed meeting and dining with her very much.  She was a lively and spirited individual with a great deal of unique character.  We are glad to have been a small part of her investment group.  We pray for her eternal rest.  May God bless and raise her soul, the Affeldt's.

I will miss my friend and co-worker at the Adam's Mark Hotel, Barbara.  This is where I had the good fortune to meet Barbara.  She was such a dedicated worker and really enjoyed her job.  I was always amazed at how she managed to have so much fun at it and she taught me to have fun too.  She was a good friend to me in Dallas at a time when I knew very few people, having just moved there from San Diego and I will always appreciate that.  Later I visited her when she moved to California and she visited me here in Tucson. I spoke with her a few months ago and she was concerned about her health.  From what she shared with me, I was worried for her. I am so sorry she lost her battle and I am very sad that my friend will no longer be on the other end of her email.  She will be missed.

Barb was my friend and fun-buddy. She was one of the few ladies i knew who still used their brain for something. We were business associates also and i respected her knowledge.   She will be so missed.

Helene,  I am missing Barbara-her emails & our long phone calls.  She was such a shining star to me and & had knowledge about so many things-whenever you needed to know about something-she would know.  She did her work so energetically  and loved whatever she was doing.  What a positive spirit she had.

I knew Barbara through the Real Estate Investor's Club. About a year and a half ago, I was privileged to accompany her to San Antonio for 3 or 4 days looking at properties.  Not only did we conduct business, but she showed us the sights, had great dinners, and all-around had a great time. I knew her to be a hard worker (always for us), told great stories, and knew how to enjoy life.   I talked to her every month at our meetings.  She told me of her disease, and was very upbeat about her future.  I missed several meetings recently and was looking for her at last week's....   My memories of her in that cowgirl hat will remain for a long time. Blessings to you.

I knew Barbara from Unity Church, where she became a Chaplain. She was a wonderful person to pray with and we greatly appreciated her service.    We will miss you Barbara.

Auntie Barb will be missed so much by all of us. She has received her complete and total healing in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!! Praise Him for answered prayers, even though it wasn't the way we had expected. We love you all! Please keep in touch.

Barb and I first met in Dallas back in the mid 80's, both of us were in the event promotions business and of the same age, we had a lot in common.  She and I became fast friends and business associates for many years.  Even though we moved across the country from one another we still kept intouch. Her quick laugh, great humor, true friendship ethics, and smart business savey will be greatly missed in my life. Barb, love ya, see ya later, bye.

I am very sad to lose my cousin and friend who was and always will be my real, live "Barbie doll."        She was beautiful, talented, and generous with her time and love. She always had time to listen and never shirked away from trials including the ultimate battle with an insidious disease.      My family and I send heartfelt sympathies to Helene and family, Virg, Johnny.

Barbara extended her friendship openly and gave of herself easily. I'm very grateful for the brief friendship we shared and sad that it couldn't continue.  She will always be in my heart and mind.  My deepest condolences to her family and the many friends who will miss her.  Livia
