Barbara Keeler Rowe

Barbara Rowe, a 56-year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away peacefully at home¸ surrounded by her loving family and friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Redondo Beach. She was born in Des Moines, IA, May 24, 1940. Barbara worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 40 years for South Bay Hospital, Little Company of Mary Hospital and Torrance Memorial Medical Center. She spent many years volunteering for the local youth baseball league as president and chief scorekeeper. She enjoyed playing Guitar Hero with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events, music performances, and school activities. Some of her other interests included oil painting, playing the piano and cello, bowling, dancing, and traveling. She will also be remembered for her generous loving heart and willingness to help others. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Bradley of Redondo Beach, CA; son, Chris Rowe of Lawndale, CA; son, Bryan Rowe of Redondo Beach, CA; sister Cathy Reese; brother, Steven Keeler; sister, Susan Mammen; grandchildren Paul, Deborah, Samantha, Taylor, and Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rowe; father, Duane Keeler; mother, Mary Keeler; and sister, Nancy Marsh. Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 21100 Victor Street, Torrance, on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following services.
