
Dusseau, Betty Lou, a life-long resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Santa Monica, CA, Betty was 76 when she died. Betty was a member of Order of The Rainbow for Girls and Member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 58 years. Betty graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles and then went on to graduate from Business College. After staying at home to raise her children, she worked for the Air Line Pilots Association, where she retired after 27 years of service. Betty led a very active life, loving to travel, to see movies and to interact with her many friends. She participated in early morning water aerobics classes, piano lessons, art lessons and was an active member of TOPS. She was always ready for a spur of the moment adventure. Betty is survived by her son, Michael (Kathryn) Dusseau of Hillsborough, NJ; and grandsons Sean and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Irving Hatch; and her daughter, Joanne Gail Dusseau. She also leaves behind a large number of very close and long time friends. The Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel in Torrance on Saturday September 17, 2011 at 2pm followed by a reception in the Lighthouse Room until 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doak Center for Palliative Care at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
