Betty Maude Keller

Betty Keller, a 63 year resident of Torrance, CA, was called home to our Lord on January 23, 2012. She was born in Los Angeles on February 25, 1926, the second child of Clarence and Ollie. Betty and her husband Phil Keller married in 1948 and made their home in Torrance, CA. As her family grew, she was active in PTA, Brownies, Cub Scouts, and YMCA. She was school secretary for the Torrance Unified School District at Casimir and Victor for over 20 years. Betty blessed the Lord as a member of Crossroad, formerly Calvary Baptist Church, in Gardena for over 60 years. She was active in every aspect, freely giving of her time in serving others. She was enriching lives with her leadership, compassion, and hands-on approach. Betty worked with numerous charity organizations until her passing. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Phil; sister Mary; and grandson Stephen. She is survived by her son Mike (Gayle); daughters Peggy Halcomb (John) and Roberta Gowdy (Levi); grandchildren Teresa Chavez, John C. Halcomb, Jeff Keller, Davon Brazil, Tracey Gowdy, Lindsay Keller, Leslie Keller; and great-granddaughter Noelle Chavez. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 1pm at Crossroad, 2818 Manhattan Beach Blvd. in Gardena. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Los Angeles, or your favorite charity are appreciated.
