It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Blake, who left this world far too soon at the age of 21. Blake was an only child, born on November 29th, and is survived by his parents, Anthony Jr. and Krystal Bartus; grandparents, Kathy Herbers and Brian Fagan, Anthony Sr. (aka Poppy) and Beverly (aka Nana); aunt, Elizabeth (aka Lizzie); pets and extended family.
Blake graduated from Redondo Union High School in 2021 and worked in the restaurant industry from the age of 15. He was a free spirit with a love for animals and an in-depth passion for music, especially live music, and played the trumpet in school bands for several years. At every opportunity, Blake would attend a live concert, blare music in his bedroom, sing in the car, and wear a band t-shirt. Music spoke to Blake in a way words never could.
Other activities Blake enjoyed were going to the theater to see the latest horror movie, visiting theme parks to ride thrilling roller coasters, and playing video games. His most recent obsession was collecting sports trading cards and Pokemon cards.
Blake’s infectious smile and kind, thoughtful, sweet nature will always be remembered. He encouraged everyone to live a life with less worry and more fun. Blake’s parents will never forget his “Love you, bye” at the end of almost every phone call with them.
We will carry Blake with us always. Please share memories you have of Blake so that his family and friends can smile and remember him fondly.
~ If you have a band t-shirt (ex. Metallica, System of a Down, etc.), please feel free to wear it to the viewing service Friday in memory of Blake ~
