Blanca Rosa Ayala was born on January 10, 1956 and was the first of seven children to Antonia and Ramon. At an early age, Blanca was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that she would carry the rest of her life. The struggles that came with this disorder, however, did not lessen her love for God, her son Ramon, and her family. She not only helped raise her youngest brother but also her sister’s son as her own. She was the glue that held the family together as she hosted all the holiday get togethers. Last year she single handedly planned her father’s 90th birthday celebration.
Blanca was the first in the family to go to college, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree from CSU Dominguez Hills. Her degree opened the door to a fruitful career at TRW as a business analyst. After an early retirement from TRW, she utilized her creative talents and eye for beauty in the gift wrap department at the May Company. Every gift that she gave away was artfully wrapped with beautiful bows.
Her diverse passions included animal welfare, gardening, Disney and the election process. Blanca loved animals and provided a nurturing environment for her cats, dogs and parakeets and even provided babysitting services to her father’s chihuahua. Her love for nature spilled over into gardening, where she not only made her yard her own haven, she helped cultivate her fathers as well. Ever a child at heart, she had an extensive Disney memorabilia and Barbie collection, which she proudly displayed in her home. Every election day for over 20 years, you would find Blanca faithfully serving as an election poll volunteer for the City of Redondo Beach.
Blanca was reunited with her mom and her sister on July 4, 2022. Blanca finished her race well and is now in glory.
“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
