Dear Bobby,

It’s taken a long time to write this and we miss you more than we could ever imagine. Things down here just aren’t as good or as fun without you Buddy-boy. 

From the early days of volleyball tournaments, Team Buzzsaw and the roof top party where you met your bride to moving east of PCH and family beach days you always made everything more special with your infectious gratitude for the blessings we had that was our beach life. "Another day in paradise" was your motto!

Your smile and attitude were contagious. Your welcoming, midwestern grace made us feel like we always mattered to you in a genuine way. It was always hilarious how incredulous you were to be blessed with two amazing children, a hot wife, and the ability to live in paradise. We could always count on a "I am the luckiest guy in the world" from you and you meant it, but we were the lucky ones for having you in our lives. 

Our family isn’t the same without our Uncle Bob, but we’ll always cherish all of our great memories. 

You are truly and deeply missed,

It has taken me a long time to be able to bring myself to write this message and I wanted to come up with the right words.  I still don't have them, though, other than to say that Bob was a great friend...one of my first when I moved to California 23 years ago.  The wonderful times that we had playing volleyball and creating a wonderful group of life long friends...those who are still in CA and those who have moved away....will always be the best of memories, and Bob was right in the heart of it all.  Bob loved his friends and his family and his love for Lisa, Kayla and Ryan will be everlasting.  We love you guys, too, as you are also a part of my family, and we are always here for you for anything and everything.  I will always remember you, Bob, with a big smile, a loving heart, and a volleyball nearby.  God is lucky to have you now.  Miss you!

During this difficult time, we are wishing you hope in the midst of sorrow and comfort in the midst of pain. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Bob was a warm, gentle soul with a contagious smile. We will miss his cheering and pacing from the sidelines during our soccer games. We will always smile at the memory of his hotel-room shrine to the Packers during the NFL playoffs. He was a good friend and will forever be remembered.

Lisa, Kayla and Ryan- We are so sad to hear about Bob's passing. Know that your family is always in our thoughts and prayers. We really enjoyed the old days of playing volleyball on the beach until the sun set. Bob was such a fun guy and a great friend. Keeping you all in our thoughts and remembering his smile.

   Being Your Oldest Niece, I have Very fond Memories of Us. When I was a little You teased me, played with me ,and made me laugh . You were a Loving & a kind hearted Uncle.  Your Smile and laugh filled my heart with joy.

       As time Went on ..  We both got Older,We started to build Our Own lives for Ourselves. We moved forward.We got jobs, moved , developed Friendships & Relationships throughout time. We found love & marriage and had Our own children to raise . Just like we All do .  At times life got busy and sometimes hectic, and we weren't always able to be with each other. But Lots of Memories were being made during those times &  We reconnected by sharing  through cards, letters, texts, pics and fb. Then, We started losing Our loved ones . One by One ,our family members were being called home. God blessed us with their time here.
        Again Uncle Bobby and I reconnected again. We spent alot of time together. Talking, laughing , & Sharing lots of Memories. I asked him alot questions about his family.. Lisa Kayla & Ryan.  He asked me about mine . It meant so much to Me ! We smiled , laughed , & even shed some tears.  
           It brought me back to when I was little. his Kindness ,Smile & laugh.

We are so very very sorry for losing Bob. Bob was truly one of a kind - always courteous, always professional, always a smile on his face. He was the backbone at his work place and everyone looked up to him and liked him because he was such a genuine person with a big heart. He always put others first and always took care of others. He was the rock many people looked to. We miss him tremendously. He was like a family member to our family, a son at work to my father. My father Richard Shyr used to say to him that if he hung out with us Asians often enough, he'd end up marrying an Asian. Ha. And he certainly married a wonderful lady and had a very nice family, of whom he loved dearly and was always so very proud. May Bob rest in peace, and may we all be reunited in heaven one day. Dearest Bob's family,

I'm sure you know and have heard from a lot of your family and Friends how wonderful Bob was. With me, he stood out because he is super accommodating and very respectable person. I had short period of acquaintance with him via small business transaction. I helped him get rid of the old furnitures at best western and I helped him with couple of male helpers load and transport the beds. At all times, he is extra nice and you can separate him from a crowd coz he is VERY DECENT. That's what I will remember him. 

He did mention to me that he wants to learn the elderly Care business because he has compassion with elders. No doubt coz he is just not nice and decent, he is surely KIND and compassionate. I wish someone will write about me like this with BOB.

Be happy for he is for sure with GOD  in heaven watching over all of you and will always be in your heart.

Thank you for all of the time you spent with us coaching, cheering and having some great laughs.  You will be missed.

Bob was such a kindhearted person. We will always remember him cheering on the boys at soccer games and all the fun we had at tournaments. He always went out of his way to ask my son Jon how basketball was going...this meant so much to Jon. His kindness towards others really stood out. Bob will be greatly missed.

Our hearts are heavy, but we are so grateful to have shared so many happy memories with Bob and your family. Donavan looked forward to arriving early to every soccer tournament to hang out with the two of you and the kids with Kayla and Ryan. I always remember how proud Bob was when both Ryan and Kayla won the same tournament-he was beaming with happiness! We have all of you in our prayers.Bob will be missed but not forgotten.

His warm and caring spirit will live on in those people he has touched. And I know he has touched many lives being a super dad to his 2 awesome and sporty kids! He worked so hard to make sure not to miss a soccer game for either kid and I loved hearing him cheer for Ryan and loved watching how proud he was of him. I will always remember his love of the Packers and his shrine to them at every away tournament when they were playing. He had a great laugh that I will always remember! I am honored to have known him and to have gotten to know his beautiful family... peace above, my friend...

Bob, we are going to miss seeing you at family get-togethers. I (Lily) still remember the first time I met you years ago at Uncle Milton's house. It was my first time going to a family event as Vince's then-girlfriend, and I was really nervous. Right away, your kindness and warmth put me at ease and made me feel welcome. It was always so nice seeing your friendly face when we all got together.

When we first became neighbors approximately eight years ago, our first impression of Bob was that he was a quiet, nice guy. A couple of years later we were invited to one of Ryan's summer birthday parties.  We left thinking what a cool time we had hanging with Bob, and getting a chance to know him in his element, chillin' with his friends.  We will always have memories of Bob playing outside on the driveway with Kayla and Ryan, looking at them adoringly, and being ever so patient.  You will always be in our hearts, Stacey, Mike, Shane, & Joshua

Brodie and I are sending our love and condolences to your entire family. Bobby always made our visit to LA extra special. We still have the personalized menu from the seafood restaurant we visited on one of the visits. We greatly appreciated his kindness and will cherish those memories with him.

Lisa, Kayla and Ryan- we are deeply saddened to hear of Bob's passing.  We will remember him as a loving, supportive father and husband who always enjoyed having a good time with friends and family.

I am heart broken to hear of Bobby's death.  I've known him since high school in Milwaukee.  He bowled with my older brother Tom on the Red Carpet Traveling Junior bowling team and he and his Dad and my Dad and brother went to many bowling tournaments throughout the years. My brother Tom also worked with Bobby at the bowling alley and moonlight bowling was always fun when he was around.  I'll always remember his laugh and smile.  Back when he first moved to California I visited him and Les along with another friend, as usual we had a fantastic time.  He was such a wonderful and caring man and he will be missed by many here in Milwaukee.  We also shared a birthday (although not the year!).  For many years we sent each other Farside cartoon birthday cards, along with a birthday we both shared a quirky sense of humor.  I will pray for his family, this is terrible tragedy for all who loved him, but especially his wife and children.

Bob, 

Although you and I have only overlapped a few times, when I was en route from Detroit making a short stop at Southern California to where I was expatriated then, but my father Richard often talked about you (while he was not having the dementia then) with respect and admiration. My father is an old and proud man, there weren't many people in the world that he would talk about like what he mentioned of you, especially your dedication and professionalism. However, our admiration not only goes to your professional field, but your compassion and generosity, often shine through with how you have treated others. 

Bob, we were all born as a person and human being, but to be a "good" person and "good" human being are lot harder than many of us have realized. You have truly won our hearts, as a good person, as a good human being! You will always live within every one of us!

We missed you. We missed your signature-smile, missed you being around!

"Hey Maria" then a big hug.....he would always greet me the same way at the beach, a party, wherever. So many cherished memories of him at the beach just hanging, he was always looking out for his friends with the tunes, the drinks, and wow those sunsets -- trying to find the green flash. I still remember my mom dancing with Bob during my wedding and afterward she couldn't stop talking about how fun he was. Lisa, Kayla, and Ryan, we will always have our fond memories and think the world of him and your family. 


I am so sorry Lisa! We were so honored to have coach Robert first year nick played rbyb. R.l. Was such a enthusiastic kid and we will never forget our memory that year! Bobby and I worked together when we were teenagers for Bobby's Dad, Ben, at Red Carpet West in the mid 70's. Bobby was a great person and we had lots of fun running the center as we moved up into manager positions. I worked with Bobby and his brother, Tom. What a wonderful family Ben, Mary, Tom and Bobby were. I can't thank them enough as getting hired by Ben  allowed me to spend a great 41 years in the bowling business. I would have never met my fantastic wife, Debbie, or had the life I've had. I miss the four of them terribly. Deepest sympathies to Bobby's family.

To the Laskowski Family:

Bob, his brother Tom and his Dad, Ben and I all were part of the early Red Carpet Lanes Bowling Chain, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  

I remember Bobby being a young boy, just 9 years old bowing in the Junior League at Thunder Bowl , later to be named  Red Carpet Lanes West.  I was Bobby's Head Junior Bowling Coach at RC West at that time.  A year passed by and Bob's Dad Ben joined the Red Carpet team and he and I were now part-time bartenders at West.  

A couple of years later I became general manager of  Red Carpet Lanes South and a few years later Ben also became a very successful manager at RC West.  As time went on, Bobby and Tommy became old enough to work the bowling control desk at various centers of the chain.  Bobby was also a great bowler.  

As time passed Bob also became the manager of the Brown Bottle Restaurant, also a Red Carpet property, a newly remodeled area of the defunct Schlitz Brewery.   The Red Carpet team was truly a family and those days were the most enjoyable of my life.  Those were wonderful times and hold many a fond memory and we made great friendships that have lasted through the years.  

I also recall Bob's Mom and Dad being the ideal couple.  Ben & Mary set the standard of family love and involvement and Bobby certainly followed the model that was established.  Beyond a doubt, Bob loved his family and his family came first in his life. I know he was a wonderful Father and Husband.

Surprisingly, in the last 4 years Bob's brother Tom passed away, followed by his Mom, Mary 2 years later, then his Dad, Ben last year and now Bob just a short year later.  The entire Laskowski Family were some of the finest, caring and well-mannered people I have ever met.  After his brother Tom passed Bob and I were in touch on a frequent basis and I was totally shocked to hear of Bob's recent passing.  The family is now all reunited in Heaven.  I know it will be difficult, but try to find peace in knowing that now you all have another special "Guardian Angel" to watch over you.

Truly it's sad that you've lost Bob so early in his life and no one wants to lose a loved one so early and quickly  And though I can't know all you're going through.  I want to tell you that I care . And I'm thinking of you and praying for all of you.  Your family are Special people, I wish I had a chance to visit with you before this event.. .Bob will be missed by many, because Bob was always a First Class guy in every way.  .. RIP my friend....

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I was Bobs sister in law, married to his brother Tom. We shared many many happy memories, knew him since he was about 10 years old. He had some rough years lately with the passing of his brother, mom and dad.  Just such a shock to hear of his passing,  we are from Wisconsin and will miss him dearly. It has been a blessing to know Bob. Although I worked under Bob for a short period of time, I was able to see the hardworking, kind, and selfless person that he was. All of us at Best Western know that this place will not be the same without him. My prayers and thoughts go out to the Laskowski family during this time.

Dear Lisa, Kayla and Ryan, We're so saddened by Bob's passing. He was a wonderful friendly family man. When we think of Bob, we think of how much he loved the three of you. We've watched him on the sidelines of basketball, baseball and soccer games always open for a friendly chat, and always with a big proud smile on his face. Lisa, I remember a conversation I had with Bob where he told me you were such an incredible mom, and he also told me you did an incredible job as team mom for Ryan's Extra team. The three of you meant the world to him. 
He wasn't only dedicated to his family, he would also always help friends out. He did more than his fair share of carpooling. And his smiles while doing so wouldn't go unnoticed. 
We're hoping you'll find great comfort in his love for you. His love for you will never leave this earth and you will always carry that with you. Ryan, you only have to look in the mirror to see your dad's face, you look so much like him. Wishing you love, light and peace. Hugs to all.

Like so many others, I was saddened and shocked to hear of Bob's passing. I have wonderful memories of my years in the South Bay in the mid-90's, playing volleyball and socializing with a cool group of people. Bob always seemed to be a focal point of that group. All the photos and tributes that are now circulating show that this held true over the last 20 years, and that Bob was just as fun and inclusive as a family man. Lisa, my deepest condolences to you and your kids.

Jump in, the water's fine! is what Bob would always greet me with at gatherings. He wanted all his friends and family to have a good time and be at ease. He was the bartender keeping our glasses full, wanting to see smiles all around. He was also a true non-judgmental friend I could talk to about the difficult things. The world will miss him. He was a special soul and will be in our hearts forever. Every time I see a sunset, I will remember Bob. I am happy to have shared some recent Friday night volleyball games with Bob to witness his legendary tricky short-deep shot strategy on the court. Lisa, we love you more than french fries too! You are Bob's favorite girl and we will be here for you, Kayla and Ryan always.

All of us at work are saddened by Bob's sudden passing, he was an extraordinary manager to us all - very considerate and understanding, and we are so fortunate to have worked for him.  He is very loved and missed. He is not only a boss to me, but my mentor and confidante as well, he was my son's godfather. He is nothing but nice to me and my family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Lisa and your two wonderful kids - Kayla and Ryan.

We are so sorry for your loss and I hope that you can find comfort in the memory of your Bob's great spirit and of your loving bond.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to each of you.
