Charles was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata), India and immigrated with his parents, Charles and Shirley, to the United States in 1966. They moved to the South Bay area near Los Angeles and Charles became a life-long Californian. As a child, Charles demonstrated a talent for artistic pursuits, taking up drawing and learning to play bass and guitar. Charles would go on to play bass in a local rock band and perform at parties and in LA clubs. With his curious mind, Charles loved to work with his hands, building music equipment from scratch and tinkering with classic cars.
After graduating from Lennox High School, Charles served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and graduated from El Camino College. Throughout this career in the South Bay and Orange County, Charles remained active in local churches.
Charles is survived by his father; a daughter, Vivianna; and siblings, Richard, James and Liana.
