Owens, Charles William "Willie" a 50 year resident of Hawthorne, passed away on August 13, 2005, at his home in Hawthorne, California. He was born in Shelby, Texas, and served in the U.S. Army prior to World War II. Charles was 84 when he died. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vaudine Owens, his sons, William Owens, Charles Owens and daughters, Bettie Auceda & Barbara Johnson of Indio, CA, and a sister, Jean Goettman of Joaquin, Texas. Charles is also survived by two grandchildren, Sheri Klintworth & Kurt Auceda, and three great grandchildren, Paul Cody & Cassie Klintworth of Lakewood, CA. A gathering of family & friends will be Wednesday, August 17, 2005, 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA. (310)792-7599. The Service will also be at Rice Mortuary on Thursday, August 18, 2005, 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd St., Redondo Beach, CA.
