

Christine (Chris) Lorenz , 77, passed peacefully July 11, 2023, at home with family and her caregivers. Chris was born October 21, 1945, in Culver City, California. Chris was known for her kind nature. She was the daughter of Richard L Lorenz, Sr., and Betty Ann (Giordani) Lorenz. With her Dad’s occupation, they moved around the country. Therefore, Chris attended many schools in various cities, but graduated from Marysville High School, Class of 1963. Following graduation, she received her AA in Mathematics from Santa Monica City College. Afterwards, she went to work in the Computer Science field for many big-name companies such as Systems Development Corporation (SDC), Martin Marietta Corporation, and Computer Science Corporation (CSC).
While working for SDC, she married her former husband, Mike Denne, who has since passed. They lived in Santa Maria, California where they raised Patrick, her stepson, together. Chris spent many years in Santa Maria, where she met one of her best friends.
She was also a consultant for Vandenberg Air Force base. Chris was fortunate to travel for work to many places, including Colorado, Canada, and Australia. She loved working in the computer world and was very good at it. She went back to CSC in 2000, where she retired in 2016. Along her work journey she met many people that became her closest friends.
Chris was an avid reader. She loved to swim, especially in the ocean. She also enjoyed working in the garden and traveling with family.
Chris was predeceased by her parents, and her ex-husband.
Chris is survived by her brother Richard L Lorenz, Jr, her sister-in-law Linda Lorenz, her aunt, Esther Maire and her family, her aunt Joan Hawkins and her family, many cousins, her stepson Patrick and his wife Kristina, many loving nieces and nephews that cherish her, and her close friends.
Per Chris’ request, there will not be any services. Those who wish to remember her in a special way may want to plant a beautiful flower, take a swim in the ocean, or read a good book in her honor. Chris will be remembered for her gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
