

Sullivan, Clara May, a 63 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Placentia, CA. Born in Watsonville, CA, Clara was 93 when she died. Clara was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Hawthorne and was active in Catholic Daughters and the Stephen Ministry. She and her husband Robert were tireless volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America. Clara loved all music and played the piano. She also enjoyed word puzzles.
Clara is survived by her son, Michael (Maria) Sullivan of Riverside, CA; daughter, Gail Mitsch of La Habra, CA; son, Bart Sullivan of CA; son, Leo Sullivan of Pasadena, CA; son, Daniel (Lisa) Sullivan of Redondo Beach, CA; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rose Pavey; son, Robert Sullivan; daughter, Theresa Sullivan; and husband of 65 years, Robert Sullivan, who died in 2008.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at McCormick Mortuary in Inglewood on Thursday May 22, 2014 from 5 to 9pm. The Rosary and Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hawthorne on Friday May 23 at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, with a reception in the Lighthouse Room at McCormick Mortuary until 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
