He entered the Marine Corps January 7, 1942 in Houston, Texas, and served as a WWII Veteran in Guadalcanal and Tarawa. He was a member of the South Bay Shriners and a Mason for over fifty years. He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his three children Robert (Linda) and grandson Christopher, granddaughter Jennifer (Colin) and great granddaughters Alli and Emily; daughter Sarah; daughter Clarissa Ann (Tom) and grandson Thomas Clarence and daughter of the heart Esther Mitchell.
