Clarence Reese Wynne

Clarence was born on July 7th, 1931 in Ardmore, PA. The baby boy of Mabel and Ernest Wynne, he was a standout athlete at Lower Merion High School. Upon graduation Clarence attended Temple University and entered the Air Force as a Military Policeman, traveling abroad and throughout the United States.

Upon his discharge from the armed forces Clarence entered the next phase of his career in the catering business at Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, PA.

Clarence moved to Los Angeles in 1971 working on numerous television shows. In 1977 he ventured out on his own and created Pyramid Food Service again providing quality catered food to the stars.

In 1983 Clarence became the Operations Manager at Town & Gown at the University of Southern California catering such events as 1984 Olympics, 4 Rose Bowls and numerous alumni and university events.

During this time he married the love of his life Doris "Danny" Wynne who filled his final 30 years with joys and adventures one could not script. The two settled in the South Bay and later in San Antonio, Baja California from 1992-2000.

While in Baja, Clarence acted out his dream of living the frontier life, riding horses, building his own structures, carrying his bowie knife and watching the sun set on the Pacific Ocean from his deck with his wife.

Clarence enjoyed western films, with a particular liking to John Wayne, Glen Ford, Clint Eastwood and Lonesome Dove. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, watching his beloved USC football Trojans and telling stories from his travels. Several things you could always expect from Clarence were quick wit, a silver tongue, a warm smile and a handful of jujyfruits in tow.

Clarence is survived by his wife Danny, his children Clarence Wynne Jr., Darrell Holland, David Holland, Kathleen Wynne-Dixon, Kristopher Wynne, Peter Wynne, Pia Lucero, Sally Holland, Stanley Gibson, Valerie Bowser, David Danhi, Lisa Danhi, Robert Danhi, Victor and Cookie Danhi and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and the extended Wynne, Holland and Danhi families. He is joined in the afterlife by his daughter Margaret, his sister in-law Seena and his beloved kitty Ratso.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday October 23rd from 1PM to 4PM at the Pacific Unitarian Church in Rancho Palos Verdes with a reception to follow.
