Afterglow I’d like the memory of me To be a happy one.I’d like to leave an afterglow Of smilesWhen life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering Softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times And bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.

Subject: Curtis & Bill @ Spaghettini

Curtis Washington has been my friend for the past 18 years. He was a regular at the Spaghettini Sunday Brunch almost every week, until he moved to Sacramento a few years back to be with his love, Trish. They are both huge Smooth Jazz fans, and attended many concerts and cruises over the years wit Dave Koz and others. Curtis told me horrible stories of being a little boy growing up in racist Louisiana in the 1950's. Scary times with the KKK, and other bigotry. He survived, and ALWAYS had a smile on his face. He loved God and loved people. Curtis had a long and very successful career with Cisco Systems, before moving to Sacramento. I am proud to have had him as my favorite "Brunch buddy" for such a long time.

His last Brunch was with me on a recent visit to LA. He was a GREAT friend. I loved this guy, and will miss him greatly !
