David Robert Potts

David R. Potts, 53, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, May 24th. He was born in Welwyn Garden City, England, beloved son of the late Norman and Florrie Potts. After moving to the United States over 30 years ago, David built a long, successful career in the aerospace industry, particularly with Boeing. David leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Howard Solley of Connecticut; brother, Bryan Potts of Thailand; nephew, Andrew Solley of Connecticut; niece, Sarah Benson, her husband, Andy Benson and great-nephew, Jack of Connecticut, niece, Takara Kelly and her fiancé, Peter Morgan of Aldershot, England; and cousins in Australia. David is also fondly remembered by Millie, his special friend. David had several dear and close friends in the area and enjoyed many things. He liked the great outdoors, hiking, motorcycles, trips to Vegas, racquet ball and working out at the gym. David was kind, generous, and funny and always brought a smile to your face. A celebration of David's life will be held at the Rice Mortuary on Saturday, June 15th at 7:00 pm. A reception follows in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 10:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
