Dominic Joseph Petittti a longtime resident of San Pedro, California passed away on February 8, 2010. He was born in Faeto, Italy on November 21, 1920, but has resided in the United States since 1938.
Mr. Petitti was immediately drafted and served in World War II as part of the Yankee Division. While stationed in Georgia, he met his future wife Alda. They were soon married. Later they moved to Alliance, Ohio where they raised two daughters: Patricia and Deborah. Mr. Petitti worked as an electrician and welder while Mrs. Petitti was employed by a loan company.
Mr. Petitti loved to cook, laugh, and tell stories. But his true passion was his family. Time spent with them was never wasted. He was a friend, father and husband who found happiness in the simple moments: a joke, a cigar, a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Petitti is survived by his daughters: Patricia Cailler and Deborah Petitti; nephew, Joe Petitti; grandson, Mathieu Cailler and many cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on February 15, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Little Sisters of the Poor in San Pedro, CA.
