Don was born on June 17, 1931 to Arthur and Sadie (Liedtke) Eriksen. He grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska along with his older sister Phyllis (Best).
The family moved to Long Beach, California while he was a teenager. After completing an A.A. Degree in electronics, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a radio operator.
He married Rose Ornelas in February of 1958 and had a daughter Eileen a year later. He worked for TRW aerospace for 40 years as a systems engineer, contributing to Apollo missions.
He was an avid ham radio operator. W6FFH will be missed by many around the world. He enjoyed boating, dancing, camping and travel with his family. He continued electronics as a hobby throughout his life, and was known for his ability to fix about anything.
He will be remembered most for his quiet faith, soft spoken strength and considerate nature.
Don is dearly loved and missed, but is with us in our hearts and we take comfort knowing he is at rest in heaven.
