Dorothy I. Whittlesey

WHITTLESEY, (SOLES) DOROTHY IRENE Slipped away from us Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 11:46 PM surrounded by her family. She will be missed deeply by her children, Leslie Frank and wife Susan (Ward) of Coto De Coza, Harold Lynn of Torrance, Lavon Raye and husband James Conrade Heinemann of Torrance, Chris Ann and husband Richard Heuser of Crescent City, her Grandchildren, Lindy, Allison, William and Dustin, Haley, Kurtis, Kevin ,Travis and Erik, Wyatt and Neil Ashley and Joshua Whittlesey. Born in Alliance, Ohio, July 25, 1935, she was the oldest of four children. She was a beloved sister to Nancy Jane (Morris), Roger Soles & Raymond Soles. She married Captain Neil Lynn Whittlesey, of Atwater, Ohio in 1959, and travelled throughout the states with the United States Air Force. During their stays across the states they had 4 childrren, and then settled their family in California. Dorothy worked at Ole's for nearly 20 years until she suffered an illness then still resided in her home with Jim , Lavon and their 4 children. She was a loving, caring person who loved to laugh with her Family, of which she loved more than anything. Dorothy can now watch over all of us and rest in peace. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, 2004 from 4PM to 8PM at WHITE & DAY COLONIAL MORTUARY, 901 W. Torrance Blvd.,(at Prospect Avenue) Redondo Beach, CA 90277. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 4:00 PM at the same White & Day Chapel.
