Elizabeth M. Flynn-Patterson

Ms. Elizabeth Mary Flynn-Patterson, 72, passed away on April 20th, 2007 at her home in Torrance, Ca. Betty, as she was known, was born on November 14th, 1934 in Dublin Ireland to Alice Helena McSherry and William Joseph Flynn. Because she came from a house with nine children, family was most important to her. She traveled by boat to America in 1956 to marry and have three children of her own. Much of her time was spent raising her kids and working with her many friends and clients at Security Pacific Bank until her retirement. An avid reader, she also loved practical jokes, laughter and off-color humor. It is important to note that Betty was a kind, thoughtful and intelligent woman who was a loving mother, great friend, and the first to give you her opinion. Although she spent more than fifty years in the U.S. and became a Naturalized American citizen, her memories of her modest, but loved filled youth and family in Ireland were always close to her heart.

All of us who knew her, will miss her. She is survived by her children:

Michael, Erin & Kelly and siblings Rose, Jenny & Joe. She truly loved her family, friends and Ireland. She will be celebrated on Thurs. April 26th at Rice Mortuary- 5310 Torrance Bl. Torrance, Ca. at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
