Ernestine Frances Carlson

Redondo Beach is where Ernestine and Gordon choose to raise their large family. She was a stay-at-home mom and was very involved with her children. Her love, support, guidance and strength resulted in a close knit, loving family who will cherish her memory.

Ernestine loved to travel extensively and especially loved to cruise. She was always up for an adventure and was a wonderful travel companion. She had visited 5 continents and dozens of countries and enjoyed over 100 cruises in her years of travel.

Ernestine is survived by four daughters, Judy MacMillan, Susan Carlson, Carolyn Finkenbeiner and Janet Beck; two sons, Richard Carlson and Robert Carlson; eleven beautiful grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel MacMillan, Danny and JoJo Beck, Megan, Lauren, Mark and Camryn Finkenbeiner, Kristen, Rachel and Ricky Carlson; nieces Lynn Gonzales and Louise Gonzales; a sister Jeanne Lord. Ernestine was preceded in death by her loving husband Gordon Carlson, her oldest son Dennis Carlson and her sister Louise Gonzales.

A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and loving aunt and friend. She will be so dearly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Rice Mortuary Chapel in Torrance on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. A private burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery in Riverside where she will join her husband.
