Gilda Antionette Parisio Lane

Gilda Lane, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026 at her home in Redondo Beach.
Born on September 28, 1927 in Binghamton, New York to Italian immigrants Gino and Connie Parisio from Abruzzo, Italy. She graduated in 1947 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music at the Crane School of Music from SUNY Potsdam in New York. She attended graduate school at the University of Southern California and the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California where she earned a Ph.D.
She married Dr. William Kenneth Lane a urologist on August 21, 1954 at Our Lady of Sorrows in Santa Barbara, California and she had one son, William Sean Lane born May 7, 1955 and one daughter Francine Deidre Lane Woods born on March 5, 1958.
She worked many years as a school psychologist for the Los Angeles Unified School District testing unprivileged students from low income neighborhoods and she retired in 1994.
She was a very devoted Catholic and a frequent parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. She enjoyed travel and would make frequent trips to Eastern Europe visiting Sacred Catholic Shrines like Częstochowa Church in Poland, Mariazell Catholic Church in Austria and the Vatican as well as visiting the Holy Land and Turkey in her younger days.
Gilda will always be remembered for her generosity to helping out others and her kindness to animals.

Gilda not only loved life but her entire family, friends, her dog, plus traveling to Europe. Gilda also was a devoted Catholic loved going to Mass and watching her favorite ch. EWTN. We all love you Gilda❤️

Gilda had a love for life...she loved celebrating her own birthday especially her family and friends birthdays...She made us all feel special and wanted things just right for the 🥳...We love you Gilda
