
Gordon a resident of Gardena for more than 35 years passed away peacefully on January 11, 2010. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Dec.18, 1922, he attended Little Rock School for the Deaf, where he met the love of his life, Lottie Balentine. They married in 1946, had two daughters and moved to California in 1954, where they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past Sept 21st. Gordon retired from Pennzoil, where he was a printer pressman, and was an active member and past president of South Bay Deaf Club. He loved bowling with the South Bay Silent Bowlers for many years. Gordy or Paw Paw better known to friends and family was fun, friendly and a giving man who loved animals and found great pleasure in telling jokes, and making people laugh. He was cherished by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Lottie, and daughters Janella Sullens and Viola (Tom) Pettigrew; Grandchildren Alana (Nino) Masellis, Johnny (Shelly), Jeff (Teri), and Jason (Chelsea) Sullens. GreatGrandchildren Shalee (Travis) Loeffler, Ryan, Jonnie, Josh, Stephanie Sullens and Alicia and Kristy Masellis; Great GreatGrand Daughter Gabrielle Loeffler.
The memorial service will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. A reception will follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 5:30 P.M.
