Gregory Judson Spencer

Greg was born December 1, 1945 in Provo, Utah, the second son to John Adna Spencer and Catherine (Myrick) Spencer. He passed away at Kindred Hospital, Paramount, California. He was predeceased by his eldest brother Roderick Stephen Spencer and survived by an only sister, Cathleen (Spencer) Harnell and his youngest brother Robert Hoover Spencer.

He was raised in the Los Angeles area. Four generations of the Spencer family were residents of Gardena, California.

After graduation from Gardena High School Greg completed his BA and MA at University of Southern California. His career as a teacher began in 1966 at Drew Middle School, Los Angeles.

Also in 1971, Greg married his wife of fifty years, Donna (Iutzi) Spencer. They moved to Canada and lived in Toronto Ontario for the next 25 years.

These years included the blessing of two children; one son, John Gregory Spencer, who resides in Eagle, Idaho with his wife Meggen and two children and one daughter Catherine Bernice (Spencer) Huynh who resides in Cerritos, California with her husband Truong and two children.

Greg’s time in Canada included an active church life, the formation of a Christian elementary day school and daycare (North York Christian School) and later the beginnings of Bibles for Canada, a non-profit organization that provides free Bibles upon request.

The family returned to Gardena, California in 1995 where Greg continued an active church life and his teaching career at Los Angeles High School until retirement in 2005.

Greg passed away to be with his Lord Jesus on Mar. 29, 2022.
