
1968-2005
Lifelong South Bay resident, James Clarke passed away on September 18, 2005, in Torrance, California, at age 37. Jimmy was born February 6, 1968. He attended St. James Catholic School, Bishop Montgomery High School and graduated from California State University Chico with a degree in Business Management. He starred on the South Bay Gunners Soccer Club.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Janice, and stepbrother, Michael Manzarek. He is survived by his father, Jack, and stepmother, Nancy, brothers Michael, John, Kevin and a sister, Cathleen and many dear friends.
During Jimmy’s long battle with Huntington’s Disease, he was always courageous, positive and never complained during the difficult times. Over the years, many people gave him their compassion and support. We would like to thank the nursing staff at Torrance Care Station East, especially Edward Co, and Hospice for all their loving care, as well as the following businesses who always looked out for Jimmy: Best Donuts, Shakey’s Pizza, El Tarasco, El Gringo, New Tokyo, Grunions and Round Table Pizza.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on September 26, at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Services will be held at St. James Catholic church in Redondo Beach on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America or your favorite charity.
