Orr, James Robert, long-time resident of the South Bay, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA, James was 84 when he died. James had served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Sovereign Grace Bible Church. He retired from the Redondo Beach City School District after a 34 year career in education.
James is survived by his wife, Rosalee Orr of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Kathleen Avery of Walnut Creek, CA; son, James Robert Orr, Jr of Murrieta, CA; son, Kenneth William of Montrose, CA; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Orr; parents, Edith and James Orr; son, Lawrence Orr.
The Memorial Service will be held at Sovereign Grace Bible Church in Redondo Beach on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 11am. Burial will be private at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sovereign Grace Bible Church (missions fund).
