James "Jim" Richard Plant passed away on July 26, 2013. He is survived by his sons Greg, Ryan, Neil and Todd; and brothers Dave and Tom. Jim was born in Michigan on January 16, 1939. He served in the US Air Force as an instructor preparing flight crews for the physiological stresses of high-altitude flight. He graduated from Auburn University in 1967 and moved to southern California soon after. He started his business, JD Manufacturing, in 1979. He enjoyed photography, cooking, golfing, and watching sports, especially Auburn football and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jim was kind-hearted, generous, willing to help those in need, and always had a smile on his face. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will take place at the JD Manufacturing shop on Sunday, August 25th from 2 to 5 PM. The shop is located at 675 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice or plant a tree in his memory.
