Jane Kato Porretto passed away May 15, 2010 at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, after suffering a cerebral aneurysm. Born December 8, 1956 in Gardena, California, Jane was the daughter of Tsugio and Kazuye (Ichimachi) Kato. A lifelong resident of the South Bay, she attended schools in San Pedro and graduated from UCLA in 1978. Jane was proud of her 25-year association with Toyota Motor Sales in Torrance. There, she met Loren J. Porretto and they were married at Yosemite National Park in 1987. They have two children, Christian (14) and Sarah (11). She is survived by her mother, Kazuye; sister, Becky (Bob)Applegate; brother, Calvin (Gail) Kato; sister, Mary Kato; and nephews Matthew Kato, Chris Kato, Kenny Kato and Brian Applegate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
