Janice was born on August 22, 1940, in Helper, Utah, to William and Esther Coleman. She was the middle of five children and grew up in a close-knit family filled with love and laughter. After marrying her first husband, William Warren, Janice moved to California, where they raised four children: Lori, Tammy, William, and Edward.
A dedicated mother and an entrepreneur, Janice owned and operated a dry cleaning and fluff-and-fold business in Manhattan Beach, California, for many years. Her work ethic, kindness, and joyful spirit touched countless people throughout her community.
After her marriage to William, Janice met what many described as her soulmate, Lawrence Bangert, with whom she shared more than 25 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2009.
Janice had a larger than life personality—she loved bowling, line dancing, bingo and could often be found enjoying friends’ company multiple days each week. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often attending services with her late beloved sister, Dorothy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and two brothers. Janice is survived by her brother Billy Coleman; her children Lori (Scott) Taylor, Tammy Jacobson, William Warren, and Edward Warren; her grandchildren Andrew, Heidi, Scotty, Emily, Michelle, Brittany, and Juliana; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Janice’s family finds comfort in the words of John 11:25–26:
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’”
May Janice rest in eternal peace, reunited with her husband Lawrence, her sister, and the family and friends who went before her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith that will live on in all who knew her.
A committal service will be held at Pacific Crest Cemetery, located at 2701 182nd St., Redondo Beach, CA 90278, on February 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.
