

Janine Kistler was born on May 30, 1960, in Los Angeles, California to the parents of Don and Allene Kistler and raised in the South Bay cities of Manhattan and Hermosa Beach, California.
She attended the local schools of: Pennekamp Elementary, Begg Junior High and Aviation High School where in the fall of 1977, she was crowned Homecoming Queen and graduated the following spring of 1978.
Janine began her work career in various industries including food service; a brief time in the film industry in craft services; and lastly at DHL Express starting in domestic deliveries, and then onsite in international and domestic services at the LAX Gateway totaling a 30-year career up until her retirement.Throughout a portion of the 1980’s, Janine studied the Korean Martial Art form of Tang Soo Do, where she earned her Black Belt.
On September 11, 1988, Janine married Jeffrey Elliott Walker, and made their home in Culver City, California for some thirty years. In 2018 and once both retired, they moved to and settled in Ilwaco, Washington until both their passings.
Janine follows her husband Jeff in death, and leaves behind her three sisters: Donene K. Kistler; Stacey A. Kistler Campbell and husband Tim Cambell; and Christie Kistler Hayes and her son, Trevor T. Hayes. Other family members include Janine’s Cousins Mike and Becky Kistler along with their four children: Brian Kistler, wife Katie and their two children, Liam and Harper; David Kistler and his son, Riley; Adam Kistler, wife Lana, and their two children, Mila and Allie; and Rachel Kistler.
Janine will always be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity to her family and friends. She had a great smile, beautiful eyes, a fun laugh and sense of humor. She was loyal, deeply loving, compassionate, and infinitely understanding and, if she could, she did not hesitate to help those in need. She is dearly missed.
A Celebration of her Life and informal reception will take place on October 19, 2024, from 10am to 2pm at Lighthouse Memorial/Rice Center located at: 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, California 90503 (310) 792-7599. A live-stream link of the services will be available to those who cannot attend.
