I’m sure I will find photos later; I’ll try to remember to post them here… I know I must have at least one of myself, Jason, and another wickedly tall colleague - James - drinking wine at a business trip in Pennsylvania. Those that knew Jason can certainly picture the scene full of smiles!

I met Jason decades ago, when we worked together at Exelon.  I was trying to have children, something he and his wife Renee empathized with. They graciously invited me to their home many times, where we shared fabulous meals, many bottles of wine and much laughter.  I shared their joy in Lauren’s arrival, and watching her grow into the beautiful and amazing young woman she is today.

We talked for hours when Jason called to tell me about Renee’s tragic scuba diving accident, first by phone, and then in person, til the wee hours of the morning. It was all so heavy.

But then he met Andrea, and the joyful Jason eventually returned… A happy family of 3, now based in California, moving on with the business of enjoying life! 💖
I delighted in hearing about all their worldly travels - what a wonderful “problem” to have to “complain” about how little vacation time there is!  :)

Though we saw each less often in the last decade since they moved, we continued to talk and were again working for the same company. We still talked about family adventures, Lauren’s schooling, the next trip for Andrea’s job that would take them across the pond, but also now about happenings at Kroger and 84.51.

I’m saddened I did not learn about Jason’s untimely passing until after his memorial service was held, but so grateful to the mutual friend who reached out to share the sad news and to all of his family and friends who shared so many photos of happy times.  My heart breaks for Lauren and Andrea, who have both been through these devastating losses before… May you be able to comfort each other, and know that Jason/Dad, too, would want you to find and experience joy again.  Much love to you both.

The Peter family is deeply saddened but will always remember the heartwarming evening we spent during thanks giving in the best company with Jason and the family and a huge turkey. Though the person may be gone, the memories remain — vivid, warm, and untouchable by time. Our heartfelt condolences! ♥️

I first met Jason when I was a little girl. I remember him as a happy guy. He played little games with me to keep me entertained on family outings. My heart goes out to his family, may he rest in peace.

I remember the day Jason and I went to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and ordered So. Much. Food. And ate. So. Much. Food. The lobster Mac and Cheese tied with the dry-aged steak for “Most Favored Dish”.

We decided it was so good that we replicated the meal, as best we could, at home.

But one of many happy memories I have of this wonderful person.

We will always treasure the memories of our shared family vacations with Jason, Andrea and Lauren.  We had so many fun times together in Boston, LA, Chicago and New Hampshire.  We will miss Jason greatly.

I will never forget Jason's kindness to me immediately following the passing of my husband, Michael Kassner.   During Mike's funeral, I asked him "when does it (the pain) go away?"  His answer was so raw and personal,  it helped me to feel I wasn't alone.  Jason was a decent, strong, dignified, loving and good man.  The world is a lesser place without him.
