Jeff "Bub" Collier Merritt

Jeff graduated from Redondo Union High School, spent his younger years enjoying time at the beach, surfing, bike riding an skateboarding.

Jeff retired from the Redondo Beach Unified School District in 2020 after 34 years of service as a Painter in the Maintenance Department. Jeff enjoyed the outdoors and mountains, our trips to Yosemite, Tahoe and Bass Lake. He looked forward to our annual family vacations to Welk Resort in Escondido and enjoyed wine tasting.

His family knows him as “Bub”; he loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He also loved all types of music, preferred old country classics as well as Jazz, classic rock and the Allman brothers to name a few. Bub is old school, still has his eight track tapes and cassettes as well as vinyl.

He also loved the Ocean.

Bub is survived by his wife, Mandy Liggett, our daughter Jasmine Anderson, son-in-law Brian Anderson, two grandsons Owen (5) and Parker (3) and our son Michael Merritt. Bub also has five sisters, two brothers, nieces, nephews, and their families who all love him deeply.

Bub left us unexpectedly and too soon. He will live forever in our hearts and memories.
