Augustine, John Vincent, a 59 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 in Torrance. Born in South Bend, IN, John was 89 when he died. John served on the Battleship USS New Mexico during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. Augustine, Mary Madelyn, John’s wife of 61 years, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Elkart, IN, she was a little older than her husband. They are survived by two children, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
