John H. Dingee, Jr. died on August 14, 2024 in Torrance, CA, surrounded by his family. He was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, he attended Central High School, Class 209. Later at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, he graduated with Honors in English having served as President of the Student Senate, Commander of the ROTC unit and President of his fraternity, Alpha Chi Rho.

After duty with the 3/68 Armor, Eighth Infantry Division in Germany as First Lieutenant, he began a career in publishing that spanned four decades.

For 24 years he was employed by Chilton Company, Radnor, PA variously as media salesman, sales manager, publisher and director of international operations. In 1987 he joined Cahners Publishing (most recently known as Reed Business Information) as regional manager for Purchasing Magazine based in Philadelphia. During his fifteen years with Reed he won many awards for sales excellence.

In 2003 he relocated to Torrance, CA and became an independent media representative for Trade Press Publishing and BNP Media.

He is survived by his two children, Hal Dingee of Torrance, CA and Jennifer Dexheimer (Greg) of Hershey, PA and his four grandchildren, Samantha, Michael (Brooke), Erin (Fermín) and Allan John.

Services will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2200 Via Rosa, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274 Tel:310-375-4617 at 1:00 on Saturday September 28, 2024. Reception will follow at the Church.
