
John Wesley Wilkins Sr. was born on September 15, 1945 to Oreatha Greer and Clarence Clifton Wilkins Sr. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. John graduated from Jordan High School. He participated in various sports but his passion was football. He received numerous scholarships and continued his football career at Compton College .
John married his wife Priscilla and had three beautiful children: Kim, John and Katrina. He worked at Albertsons Distribution Center for 30 years before he retired.
John was known to his family and friends as "Wesley." He often said phrases such as "Drag it through the garden," "Dry up," "Spare me the pain," and "Get a left hook or get your wig shook in the undertakers book." John enjoyed telling jokes and laughing at them even if they weren't funny. He enjoyed gatherings with his family and friends and loved to entertain. John also loved to go camping and enjoyed long walks around the neighborhood. Everyone knew him as a very friendly person.
John is preceded in death by his mother: Oreatha Greer, his father: Clarence Clifton Wilkins Sr., and 2 brothers Clarence Clifton Wilkins Jr. and Ronald Kelly Dennis.
He leaves behind his wife Priscilla, 3 children: Kim, John, and Katrina, 2 step sons Adam and Eric, 1 granddaughter Kamri, sisters and brothers Elouise Jones Tucker, Anna Johnson, Edward Wilkins Sr. wife Caroette, Margie Marie Sands husband Bernard, Josie Levern Dennis, Charles Dwayne Dennis, Bernard Eugene Dennis, Linda Lorraine Dennis, Zandra Gardner husband Greg, Calvin Anthony Mixon, Leah Anderson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
