Kathryn Ann Porter

Porter, Kathryn Ann, a 52 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2007 in Hermosa Beach. Kathryn was 81 when she died. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Walter E. Porter who passed in 2002. She is survived by their children James (Donna) Porter of Costa Mesa, CA, Deborah (John) Sain of Torrance, CA, Gary Porter of El Camino Village, CA, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Kathryn was born in Bartlesville, OK, to Katherine and Howard Myers. She graduated from Washington High School in Los Angeles. She worked for Douglas Aircraft as a Riveter during WWII. Besides being a devoted and loving homemaker, wife, and mother, Kathryn was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, State Director of Little League Baseball International Women's Auxiliary, a charter member of Manhattan Beach Tennis Club and a world traveler.

A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be held at American Martyrs Church on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made in Kathryn Ann Porter's name to Alzheimer's Association 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
