Even after 6 years, we still think of Kathy very often -- we think about all the experiences we have missed sharing with her, and it makes us very sad. But thinking about the experiences we did have an opportunity to share with her brings smiles to our faces.

Kathy was like a mother to me.  It has been 4 years and I still think about her all the time.  I know she had a few simple wishes that she had hoped her family would carry out... but they did not.        There is no one like Kathy around in Los Angeles today.  She left this world far far to early.        I miss you Kathy.

Please accept my sympathy.  In case you don't remember my name, I am Aunt Gussie's (Mrs. A. Dennis Landry) daughter.  Mother died in January, 2007 at the age of 96 (two months shy of being 97) and, Linda, we all enjoyed your annual Christmas card and knowing what your family was doing.  Mother and I enjoyed all our visits with you all and your mother in Bendel Gardens--so many years ago.  I still think of you all when I drive in front of the house.  I have forwarded the obituary notice that was in the Lafayette paper on to Vinton so that it can be noted in the Broussard family tree booklet.  I know Cathy's death will leave a real void in your lives.  We will keep you in our prayers.  Please keep in touch.

I was sad to hear that Kathy had passed away.  I will always remember her fondly and gratfully for the time she took to train me for her position at the Hilton in New Orleans when she moved on to pursue her dreams in Beverly Hills. She was special, full of energy, innovative and always ready to give you the straight story. She extended warm hospitality to me on my visits to California, and I wish I could have thanked her once again.

I am so sorry to hear that Kathy has left us.  I worked with her back in 1986 here at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside for a short time.  I found her to be fun, knowledgable and woman with mountains of class! Deepest Regards to her family, coworkers and friends.

Dear Comrades, friends and colleagues,       Mark and I would just like to say how sorry we are for the loss of the wonderful Kathy Carpenter. Kathy’s zest for life with her high spirit and energy was priceless. Kathy’s tenaciousness attitude and determination for making sure ‘the show must go on’ was truly inspiring to us all.      I remember over 5 years ago meeting Kathy at Sundance and her asking if ‘I had plenty of media cards, as I was going to need them!’. It was then that I knew that the Gibson Lodge was going to be a lot of work and a lot of fun. Kathy had that way about her, I knew instantly Kathy was a woman to be trusted and a woman with a huge heart that would not let you down. Over the following 5 years of working with Kathy and the team this was most certainly true – from late night parties with the Hobbits, jam sessions with Sting to dodging punches from random strangers, the laughs and the stories were never ending.      Kathy was a true mentor and Aunt to us all - when we gave Kathy the option of being able to work with us again and to keep the original Sundance Family intact she jumped at the chance…this meant the world to us and always will.      The last time we saw Kathy, was at our leaving do in Topanga. Kathy once again saved the day, by miraculously catering delicious fried chicken and Mac N’ Cheese for over 40 people! Kathy did this so effortlessly and never needed recognition for such generosity.      Kathy is a true angel and will be missed by so many, I only wish we were there with you all to celebrate the life of Kathy Carpenter, because that she truly deserves. WE are deeply saddened by Kathy's death. Kathy was a second Mother to our kids, Heather and Dave Schlosser and a true second Mom to their dog Max. Kathy was also a friend to us. We instantly became friends on our first trip to Hermosa. It was as if we had known her forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who knew and loved Kathy.

Kathy was truly one of a kind and I wish I just had one more chance to thank for everything that she did for me.  Ten days each for the past two years she gave me the opportunity to live my dream as a celebrity photographer at the Gibson Lounge for the Sundance Film Festival. Until recently I did not realize that she gave me something bigger than that and it's the life long friends that I made along the way and for that I am truly grateful. She will be missed, but she will NEVER be forgotten

it seems that not a day would go by without an email or call..kathy is such a part of my life is so many ways. i say is because i know it will be a very long time before i don't pick up the phone to tell her something or start an email about something important or so very unimportant...who will i have lunch with? who will i tell all my ridiculous stories to?    i can't believe she is not here anymore, i can't believe that if i call that number in my cell phone she won't pick up and say 'hey girl are you hungry?"...i miss her...she was so special, so generous and so very genuine.   i'm so sorry for all of those close to her, family and friends. i know that she touched many lives and will be missed by so many of us.   love you kath...m.

Kathy was special.  Everyone who ever met her knew that. There is a line from the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" that is fitting at this time.  "Each man's life touches so many other lives - and when he's not around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he."    My friend, you have left a huge whole.

I am so sadden to learn of Kathy's passing.  She was a wonderful high school friend and former roommate at USL.  She will be remembered with love.

Dearest Cousins, the news of your sisters passing was such a shock.  Our hearts are deeply saddened and we will sorely miss her.     Remember you are in our thoughts and prayers and we're here for you all during this tough time..........   Those we hold most dear never truly leave us...They live on in the kindnesses they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives.
