Leticia Joseph passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was born on August 22, 1959 to Clemente and Julia Cortez. She was a lifelong resident of the South Bay who grew up in Redondo Beach, California with her siblings, Miguel, Elva, Norma, Jose, Cesar, Lupe and Susana. Leticia graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1978 and went on to work for Max Factor, and then pursued her career at Neutrogena, where she met the love of her life, Dorsey Joseph. They married on June 15, 1985 and moved to Lawndale, where the Joseph family bought their forever home.
Leticia loved deeply and lived her life graciously. She was a kind, loving, incredibly strong and resilient women. Her selfless soul poured love into the hearts of the people around her and her generosity never went unnoticed. Leticia loved to be around her family, loved to dance, and lived for being a mother. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and positive outlook on life. Leticia was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2009, and by the grace of God and her devotion to the Virgen de Guadalupe, she beat the odds and blessed her family with a second chance.
Leticia is survived by her daughter Erika, son Sante, grandchildren Victoria, Donnovan, Nahla and Zoey, great granddaughter Elliana, mother Julia, siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family who absolutely adore her. We have lost someone very dear to our hearts, who will be deeply missed and live in our hearts forever. She will be remembered for her tremendous will, fighting spirit, kindness and love of life and family.
Rest peacefully Let.
