Letrice Necole Martin

Letrice Necole (Neke) Martin departed this life on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the age of 46.  She was born in Gary, IN, to parents Georgeann A. Martin and Michael Sutton, Sr., on October 25, 1974, and was the younger of their two children.

In 1985, Neke and her mother relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she completed her primary and secondary education.  She went on to obtain certification as a Human Resources Generalist.  Upon receipt of her certification, Neke worked for several notable companies, Special Services Group (SSG), Southern California Edison, Toyota Motor Company, Diagnostic Laboratories, and U.S. Vets.

Neke was a bright, strikingly beautiful young woman with a captivating smile.  She was an excellent cook, and she possessed a natural talent as a hairstylist.  Neke enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and her rescue puppy Storm.  She also loved long walks on the beach, and attending concerts with her life partner Gregory Thomas. Neke had a warm and generous heart, with the true spirit of a California girl.  She was loved by all who knew her, and will truly be missed.

Neke is preceded in death by her mother Georgeann A. Martin, and both maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her beloved son Austin Tyler Trapp, life partner and forever love Gregory Thomas, father Michael Sutton Sr., siblings Michael A. Sutton (Martine), Kathy Sutton, and John Sutton.  Also left to mourn her passing are nieces Helena Sutton, Diamond Sutton, Megan Sutton, Layona Sutton, nephews Antwan Sutton, Qujuan Sutton, and Mickey Chambers, along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, and friends, all whom she cherished dearly.
