

Lloyd Landerville of Torrance, CA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 11 2013. He was born on August 10th 1926 to Emile and Marie Landerville in Argyle, MN. His father ran a service station in Argyle, but due to WWII gas and tire rationing was forced to close it. He moved the family to Torrance in 1942 where he set up residence. Lloyd attended Torrance High School until he enlisted in the Navy in 1944. He spent 2 years in the Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his discharge in 1946 he returned to Torrance to pursue a career as Tool &Die Maker and later as a Design Engineer for McDonnell Douglas and then Todd Ship Yards from where he retired in 1987. During his children’s years growing up Lloyd was very active in their lives as a Little League coach and working with his eldest daughter in her pursuit of softball. Lloyd had many friends who he spent countless hours with at the bowling alley, which was his passion, or going on trips to Las Vegas.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Arden and his eldest daughter, Diane. He is survived by 3 sons, Tim (Jill) of Santa Rosa, CA, Scott of Lakewood, CA and Jon (Sally) of Palos Verdes Estates, CA and his daughter, Elaine (George) of Montana. He is additionally survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
