

Londa Jean Worthington-Brooker took her last breath on March 13, 2023. As her two daughters held each hand, Londa went home to be with Jesus, one month before her 81st birthday. Londa was born April 13, 1942 to the parents of Noel Bruce Worthington and Stella Blade (Tate) Worthington in New Castle, Indiana. Londa was the oldest of five children: Michael Bruce, Lynn Alan, Samuel Levi and Debra Nell.
Londa spent the first 18 years of her life in New Castle and attended Walter P. Chrysler High School, class of 1960. Londa was a high achiever in and out of school and went on to further her education at Ball State University. Later in life she would earn her Masters Degree in Business at University of LaVerne in California.
Londa was married until 1978 and during this union, had two girls: Michele Lynne Brooker (Howlin) and Erika Suzanne Brooker (Riggio.)
In 1979, Londa relocated her daughters and found a new life in Long Beach, California. During this time, Londa worked for Rockwell International/Boeing for many years as an Executive Secretary.
Londa was an active member of AA and was proud of her sobriety since 1980. Her love of the outdoors brought her to become an active member of the Southern California Trail Ramblers. Her legacy of hiking and camping has been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
One of the greatest joys of Londa’s life was her son Marc “William” Sayre whom she gave up for adoption at his birth in 1963. She was reunited with him in 2015 at her home in La Habra, California. Until his death in 2021, they enjoyed a beautiful relationship.
Londa was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Stella Worthington and brothers, Lynn and Sam Worthington.
Londa Worthington-Brooker leaves to cherish her memory, her children Michele Howlin (husband Bennie) of Whittier, California and Erika Riggio (husband Paul) of Cerritos, California, her brother Mike Worthington (wife Cindy) of Dayton, Ohio, younger sister; Debra Waechter (husband Jim) of Portland, Indiana and sister-in-law; Maurine Worthington of Cerritos, California and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
