Lori Aurentz

October 25, 1960 – June 4, 2025

Lori Lee Aurentz, 64, passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest at her home in Redondo Beach, California on June 4, 2025. Lori was born October 25, 1960 in Inglewood, California. She was the second of four children born to Charles and Sally (Beinert) Salazar.

Lori grew up in Hawthorne, California and attended Eucalyptus Elementary, Hawthorne Intermediate, and Hawthorne High School, graduating from high school in 1978. She met and married Jack Hines on October 4, 1986, and they settled in Redondo Beach, California, where their two sons, Joshua Glenn Hines (1989) and Phillip Austin Hines (1991) were born. Jack and Lori divorced in 1993 and Lori married John Aurentz in 1995. Together they had one son, Karl Sylvester Aurentz (1996).

Lori worked as a bookkeeper during her working career and later went back to school at El Camino College and took night classes to earn her AA degree in accounting. She was so proud the day she graduated with her degree!

Lori was always full of life and had a love for many things. She spent her spare time gardening and had a special passion for roses. In addition to gardening, she loved cooking, painting portraits, and doing ceramics. She was an avid Dodgers fan and also loved attending beach concerts in and around her hometown. Lori was also a dog lover and always owned a pet.

Lori was preceded in death by her dad, Charles Salazar, and grandparents, William and Hazel Beinert and Felix and Velia Salazar. She is survived by her sons: Joshua Hines (Jenny Nelson), Phillip Hines, and Karl Aurentz; granddaughters: Khloe, Shayla, and Skylar Hines; mother Sally Salazar; siblings Sheri (John) Lydon, Richard Salazar (Deanna Martindale), and Daniel (Christine) Salazar; nephews Brian, Sean, and Kevin Lydon, and Payton and Braden Salazar.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Lori's life at Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions, White & Day Center, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach, California 90277, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A reception is immediately following.
