Carmen Hernandez, lifelong resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on April 3rd 2018. Carmen graduated from Redondo Beach Union High School in 1948. She proudly worked for the General Telephone Company for 46 years and served as the Vice President of Communication Workers of America Local 9400. She was a dedicated, lifelong activist for working people.
Carmen survived by Judy RaPue (daughter) , Carlos Hernandez (son) , Angel Contreras (brother), Lauren Huanosto (granddaughter) , Danielle Imbriale (granddaughter), and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 12th from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rice Mortuary in Torrance and Catholic services will be held on Friday April 13th at 10 a.m. at St James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach.
