It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Maricela Gomez Castellon's passing on April 26, 2025. She was surrounded by the love and presence of her close family and friends as she peacefully took her last breath. Maricela was 36 years old and leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, compassion, and strength.
Born on February 14, 1989, Maricela dedicated her life to raising her daughter, Arianna, and embracing new adventures with her family and friends. Driven by her passion to care for others, she was part of the Health and Human Services program during her high school years at Narbonne High School. She worked her way from Cerritos College to nursing school at West Coast University while working and raising her daughter. Her education allowed her to serve her community as a NICU nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County followed by a brief career in Occupational Health at Northrop Grumman. We all admired her strength and dedication to pursue her dreams while being a devoted mother. When she had the opportunity, Maricela loved to travel and was always ready to share a good laugh and a glass of wine with those she held dear.
Her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to bringing joy to others were evident in the love and support she received from her family and friends throughout her courageous battle with cancer.
Maricela is survived by her loving mother, Socorro, her cherished daughter, Arianna, her devoted partner, Charles, her brother Gilbert, her sister Alejandra, her sister-in-law Anna, her cousin Melissa, as well as nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends. She was a treasured mother, sister, cousin, and friend, always offering comfort and guidance to those around her.
In respecting Maricela's final wishes, there will be a private memorial service to celebrate Maricela's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to her GoFundMe in support of her daughter's future career goals.
The depth of our loss in Maricela's passing is immeasurable. We will forever hold her memory in our hearts and strive to keep her spirit alive in all the days to come.
